VB's Winners - 10/09/2009

As I promised when I told you about the entirely-free-no-strings-attached gambling site, here is the first installment of what I hope (in jest) will turn me into:

Sam Rothstein - Professional Handicapper

I'll list my picks after the jump. If you think I'm off with some let's hear it in the comments. Otherwise, I assume no liability for anybody losing their children's college money, house, car, or meth lab (North Georgia) by using these picks to gamble.

So, here we go:

College Football

Pick One - Auburn -3 at Arkansas - Take Auburn and dump the points. Arkansas has no defense and this might well be a 17+ point win by Auburn. This game is also the LOCK OF THE WEEK! Is that dramatic or what?

Pick Two - Tennessee -1 vs. Georgia - Take Tennessee in what is basically a pick 'em. I normally don't advocate betting on Tennessee, but this will be the first pro-style offense the stellar Tennessee defense has faced in 4 games, so look for the Vols to pull it out at home.

Pick Three - Alabama -5 at Mississippi - Take 'Bama and give the 5 to the Rebels. Alabama will win this one by a touchdown at least over a somewhat overrated Ole Miss squad.

Pick Four - Utah -8 at Colorado State - Again, take the favorite and dump the points. Utah wins going away in this one.

Pick Five - Stanford at Oregon State - Take Stanford in the pick 'em. Stanford is underrated and should beat the Beavers easily.

Pick Six - Georgia Tech +3 at Florida State - Take Tech and the points in what may be the last straw for Bobby Bowden's position as "head coach" at FSU.

Pick Seven - Michigan +8 at Iowa - I don't like Michigan whatsoever, but take them and the points in what should be a narrow win for the Hawkeyes.

Pick Eight - Washington +3.5 vs. Arizona - Wahington should come through with an outright win here, but look for them to at least cover the 3.5 point spread.

NFL Football

Pick Nine - Colts -4 at Titans - Take the Colts in what will be a closer win than many expect. I do like this particular spread and the Colts should cover.

Pick Ten - Broncos +3.5 vs. Patriots - The Broncos should win this game outright, but look for them to at least cover the spread. Take Denver.

Bonus Picks -

Bonus One - Colts at Titans - Under 46 - The Colts will win, but the two teams shouldn't combine for more than 46.

Bonus Two - Patriots at Broncos - Over 41 - This game should easily go over 41 combined.
